In my last blog post, I talked about ways to spread awareness about climate change.
The first way I mentioned was spreading awareness by word of mouth: talking to those around us as well as on social media. The second way was by directly contacting our representatives.
This week, I signed this petition and learned about this local movement from the Student Sustainability Leadership Council (SSLC) towards achieving net zero carbon dioxide emissions at the University of Illinois. Essentially, the SSLC is urging UIUC Chancellor Robert Jones to achieve carbon neutrality by 2033, as opposed to 2050.
The petition's information: "https://publish.illinois.edu/carbonfreeby33/"

I have also compiled the contact information of our representatives at the local and state level:
(Mayor) Deborah Frank Feinen

217-403-8720
102 N. Neil St., Champaign IL 61820
(Governor) JB Pritzker

I really liked how your blog balances things we can do in our daily lives with petitions and ways to approach this problem on a larger scale. Great post!
